During hot weather, greenhouses can trap heat, leading to excessively high temperatures that can stress or even kill plants. Roof vents allow hot air to escape from the top of the greenhouse, where it tends to accumulate. By opening these vents, you create an upward airflow that draws cooler air in through lower openings or side vents. This process helps maintain a more stable and suitable temperature range for your plants.
In addition to temperature control, proper ventilation helps manage humidity levels inside the greenhouse. High humidity can lead to problems such as mould growth and fungal diseases, which can adversely affect plant health. By allowing moist air to escape through roof vents while drawing in drier air from outside, you can help maintain an ideal humidity level conducive to plant growth.
Please ensure that the colour matches your greenhouse, if powder coated. The roof vents are also useful for refurbishments and/or replacements for damaged/broken vents.
