Elite Kensington 6 Greenhouse
The Kensington 6 Lean-to greenhouse by Elite is a sophisticated and timeless structure that can be customised to fit any length and powder coated in a variety of colours from Elite’s selection. This greenhouse provides both functionality and aesthetic appeal for garden enthusiasts looking to seamlessly integrate their outdoor space with the comforts of their home. In addition to its visual appeal, the Kensington 6 greenhouse offers practical features, such as efficient ventilation systems, sturdy construction, and ample space for cultivating plants.
If you have anything which overhangs the ridge of the lean-to, you must allow 1″ (25mm) height clearance for the roof vent.
The Kensington 6 is available in unlimited lengths.
Base:
The Kensington 6 features a small lip along the base, designed to fit over the Elite base or a custom-built raised plinth. If you choose not to use the Elite Base, you’ll need to support this lip with materials like timber battens, bricks, or blocks to ensure a secure fit. The Elite base adds an additional 5″ to the height of the greenhouse.

Doors:
The Kensington 6 Lean-To is supplied with a single sliding door. On receipt of your order, we will contact you to discuss your preference as to which side you would want to have the door (left or right gable)
Glass:
This greenhouse is supplied with 3mm horticultural glass as standard, with the option to upgrade to 4mm full-sheet toughened safety glass or 6mm polycarbonate. For homes with children or pets, we strongly recommend choosing toughened safety glass for added peace of mind.

We insist for legal and safety reasons, that toughened glass is chosen if any of your lean-to covers an entrance to a dwelling.
Roof Vents & Louvres:
The Kensington 6 greenhouse has a minimum of one manual roof vent and one 5-blade louvre. The number increases with the size of greenhouse:
- 4ft, 6ft, 8ft, 10ft & 12ft with one roof vent and one 5-blade louvre
- 14ft & 16ft with two roof vents and one 5-blade louvre
- 18ft & 20ft with three roof vents and one 5-blade louvre
Automatic Ventilation:
Automatic roof vent and louvre openers can also be added to your order. The automated openers will ensure that your vents open and close automatically, depending on the temperature, keeping your plants ventilated appropriately.
Shelving/Staging:
A 6ft extruded shelf is included as standard with the Kensington 6 model. Additional staging and shelving is available in aluminium, or any of the Elite powder-coated finishes. For the Kensington 6, the 5-slat is recommended for the staging, and the 2-slat for the eye-level shelf.
Rainwater Collection:
The greenhouse is provided with an integral gutter that collects rainwater from the roof, preventing runoff and allowing for efficient collection. To maximise the effectiveness of the integral gutters, we offer optional rainwater kits. The lean-to kit includes a downpipe that connects directly to the integral gutters and collects rainwater into storage tanks or water butts.
Bar Capping:
Bar capping is optional. It provides a stronger hold for the glass against the frame, plus the rubber fin makes for a better water seal and is a way of hiding the clips, providing a neater finish on your greenhouse. Bar capping can not be used on horticultural glass.
Cantilevers
Cantilevers are supplied as standard with the Kensington 6 greenhouse. They are used as eave and/or ridge bracing. They add strength to greenhouse framework by providing additional support and rigidity. The cantilevers distribute the weight and pressure more evenly across the framework, which can be useful in areas with high wind or snow loads.
Powder Coating:
Greenhouses are supplied in aluminium as standard. However, Elite have a varied range of powder-coated colours to choose from; “Mocha”, “Brown”, “Graphite”, “White”, “Olive”, “Green”, “Black”, “Berry”, “Stone”, “Linen”, “Willow” and “Navy”, at an additional cost. Guarantee:
Elite Greenhouses are provided with a 20 year guarantee. They guarantee that no aluminium part will rust or warp. The guarantee excludes glazing or weather damage.

We process every order to Elite the same day it’s received, so your order enters production without delay, meaning you’ll receive your greenhouse in the quickest possible time.
Please note: Elite delivery vehicles are rigid curtain-sided lorries (approx. 15 tonnes gross weight, 8ft 2in wide, 11ft 2in high, and 30ft long). If there are any access restrictions to your property, please let us know in advance so suitable arrangements can be made.
Deliveries can be made without a signature if prior authorisation is given, allowing for a smooth and flexible delivery experience.
Unfortunately, we’re unable to deliver to the Scottish Highlands or locations requiring transport over water (e.g. islands) due to logistical challenges and significantly increased costs associated with transporting goods to these areas. We aim to keep delivery efficient and affordable for all customer and these regions currently fall outside our delivery network. However, if you’d like us to explore an alternative courier option, please contact us for a quotation, we have many customers who arrange their own courier to these areas.

The Elite Kensington 6 is a mid-size lean-to greenhouse with a single sliding door. It’s suitable for smaller gardens where a stand-alone greenhouse wouldn’t fit. It can either be installed onto a brick base or cill, or to the Elite integral base, which adds an extra 5″ of height to the greenhouse. Customers need to be sure that the greenhouse will fit its intended space, paying particular attention to the roof vent – ensuring it won’t be affected by any guttering or roofing.
