Choosing the width of a greenhouse is the simplest and most effective place to start when making a purchase.  If you know, for example, that your available space is limited to 6ft wide, this immediately eliminates around half of the available models, making the selection process much easier.  For this reason, we always recommend starting with the width before considering other options.

It’s also important to remember that greenhouses are often slightly larger than their advertised size. Most are sold by their nominal dimensions, which are rounded for convenience. In reality, the overall external size is usually a few inches bigger.  As an example, a greenhouse advertised as 6×6 typically measures around 6’4″ x 6’5″.  Keeping this in mind when measuring your space will help ensure a proper fit and avoid any installation issues.
